Every new layoff and closure notice, as clean JSON. The WARN Act obliges employers to announce mass layoffs and plant closures to their state at least 60 days ahead. Each state publishes those notices in its own format: a Tableau dashboard, an xlsx, a csv, an HTML table or an open-data API. This Actor reads twelve of them, maps every notice to one fixed row and returns a deduplicated list for the window you choose.
What it does
- One row per notice: state, company, city, county, address, employees affected, notice date, effective date, notice type (layoff or closure) and the source link.
- Pick the states and a window in days, optionally a minimum number of employees.
- A state that fails (page rebuilt, timeout) is logged and skipped. The other states still deliver.
- Deduplicated on company, location and date, newest first, for scheduled delta runs.
- States: NY, CA, IL, WA, TX, PA, NJ, NC, VA, MD, CO and WI.
Pricing
$2 per 1,000 notices ($0.002 per returned notice), charged only for rows that land in the dataset. An empty run costs nothing. A 30 day window across all 12 states returned 204 notices on 23 October 2026, so a full first load costs about 40 cents and a daily delta run a few cents.

FAQ
Why is Texas often empty?
The Texas Workforce Commission publishes to data.texas.gov with a delay of several months. Use a long window for Texas.
Do all states give the notice type?
No. Texas and New Jersey do not publish it, those rows say `unknown`.
Is the employee count exact?
It is the number the employer reported to the state. Some states publish a range or a month instead of a day, see `noticeDatePrecision`.
How do I track new notices?
Run it daily with a window of a few days and de-duplicate on company, location and `noticeDate`.
