The transcript of any YouTube video, as clean text and as timestamped segments. Paste video URLs or ids and list the languages you prefer. It works with captions written by a person and with the captions YouTube generates automatically.

Run it on Apify

What it does

  • One row per video: the full transcript as one text, plus each line with its start time and duration.
  • Your languages in order of preference. Captions written by a person win over auto-generated ones.
  • Every row says which language you got, whether it was auto-generated and which other languages the video has.
  • Title, channel, duration and view count on every row.
  • No API key, no quota and no login.

Pricing

$2 per 1,000 transcripts, charged only for rows that land in the dataset. A video without captions returns nothing and costs nothing. No start fee.

FAQ

Does every video have a transcript?

No. Only videos with captions, written or auto-generated. Videos without captions return nothing and cost nothing.

Can I get a translation?

You get the languages the video actually has. Translations that YouTube generates on the fly are not included.

How good are auto-generated captions?

They contain recognition errors and have no punctuation. The `is_auto_generated` field tells you which kind you got.

Do I need a YouTube API key?

No, and there is no quota.
